Job Description

FOOD SERVICE HELPER

Current opportunity with Dane County Consolidated Food Services (CFS), located near Verona, Wisconsin. This position will perform a variety of tasks necessary for preparing, delivering and serving food; cleaning of facilities and equipment in a food service institution; and related duties as required. Duties are performed for clients of CFS, including Badger Prairie Health Care Center, Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Juvenile Detention Center, and Verona Senior Center and Meals on Wheels.  Requires the ability to read, write and perform basic math computation.  Cooking experience is beneficial. Additional credit will be given for institutional food service operations experience. Must receive and maintain security clearance from the Sheriff’s Office. Must have and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and possess a good driving record; ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs. unassisted and heavier loads with assistance; carry, push and pull objects related to the preparation and serving of food.  A thorough driving records check will be completed.  Shift assignments are normally posted two weeks in advance. Shift hours include day-time, evenings, weekends and holidays. Hourly pay is $17.96 with further merit increases to $19.39 with excellent benefits including fully paid HMO health and dental insurance for full time employees, retirement, short/long term disability, long term care and vision coverage. Exam: a completed Qualifications Statement must be submitted with the application for employment.
