ECONOMIC SUPPORT SPECIALIST

&  ECONOMIC SUPPORT SPECIALIST BILINGUAL/BICULTURAL (HISPANIC/LATINO) 

The Dane County Department of Human Services, Division of Economic Assistance in Madison, Wisconsin, is seeking individuals to perform case management for applicants/recipients of W-2, Medical Assistance, Child Care Subsidies, Food Stamp Program and other economic assistance programs; to apply complex policies to achieve program objectives; provide information and referral services; and perform related duties.

You may apply for both the regular Economic Support Specialist and the Bilingual/Bicultural (Hispanic/Latino)  Economic Support Specialist.  If you apply for the regular and the bilingual you must complete a separate application forms for each one.

This recruitment will be used to establish an eligibles list from which vacancies may be filled when and if they occur. This list is in place for six months and may be extended an additional amount of time.   REQUIRES any combination of training and experience equivalent to high school graduation and two years experience providing case management and/or eligibility determination of clients. Two years of related college study may be substituted for one year of the described experience.  Must have one year of experience with electronic data processing equipment and use of current computer programs.  Some positions may require a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and access to personal transportation.  Candidates reaching the final selection process will be subject to a thorough driving record background check.  Starting hourly wage is $20.53 with further merit increases to $22.43, longevity pay of 3% to 12% of base salary and excellent benefits.  Anticipated exam:  multiple choice exam and a oral translation exam for those applicants applying for the bilingual/bicultural (Hispanic/Latino) positions, this is translating Spanish-English and English-Spanish.
